Located on Selkirk Campus in Nelson, the Silver King Childcare Centre provides childcare for the college’s students and staff, helping to remove barriers for student-parents, while also providing opportunities for Early Childhood Care & Education program practicum placements.

The facility is a one-level, open plan design allowing easy adaptation of the space for different uses, aiming to maximize play and flexibility. There is plenty of natural light in the centre as well as access to a large greenhouse and a generous outdoor play space. The building also meets ambitious energy targets, with BC Step Code 4 equivalency.

The Silver King Childcare Centre offers care for sixteen infants and toddlers, and eight 3-5 year-olds in a multi-age program.
