The outdoor pool in Salmo has been a popular community hub in the hot months of summer ever since its construction for the centennial in 1967. To help the pool and facilities remain active for another 50 years, Cover was engaged by the RDCK in 2020 to conduct a Conditions Assessment Report  for proposed pool updates, with a goal of developing an economical approach to the work, with the greatest return for the community. Investigation of the existing change room building, pool conditions, mechanical equipment, and current pool regulation requirements were conducted. The proposed design looked at renovating the existing change room building to improve accessibility and user experience, as well as upgrades to the outdoor pool gutters and mechanical systems. Major updates have been completed for the pool mechanical equipment and service building, which greatly improve the functionality and longevity of the outdoor pool.
