Nelson, BCTraditional Homelands: Ktunaxa, Syilx, and Sinixt Peoples

Located just off historic Baker Street, the building at 561 Josephine Street holds official heritage designation and is an important part of the character of Nelson’s downtown. Originally constructed to be the City’s streetcar service building, it has seen a number of uses over the years.

Cover has been involved in multiple Feasibility Studies for the site. Its central location and unique history present a lot of possibilities for the building’s future. These studies included functional programming, massing concepts, potential floor plans, costing, code and bylaw reviews, and in each instance, a thoughtful consideration of the heritage qualities of the building.
