The Passive House certification achieved on this project guarantees that the energy use of the building will be 80% lower than that of Building Code level construction, and it achieved an amazing .35 ACH air leakage rate, ensuring a very long life for the envelope. The design also utilizes mass timber structure, positively impacting the embodied carbon of the project while also bringing warmth and texture to the interior spaces. This project set a new standard in Alberta, and the world, for commercial construction.
